Who is behind this

I'm David Rug. Physicist by training (BSc, Heidelberg) — which mostly means I can't help understanding a system from its building blocks up, and then rebuilding it so the whole thing finally fits together. That instinct is the work: I take a tangle of tools and turn it into one coherent thing you own.

The engineering ground for all of it is Project Liminality — a complex, open-source, crowdfunded system I've been building largely day by day: full-stack, with agentic AI woven through it. It's where the craft I'd bring to your business was forged, in the open, on the hardest version of the problem — and it's why I can build you something real, not a demo.

The same instinct that lets me understand a system deeply also lets me explain it simply. Years of making complex ideas land — in writing, in visuals, in animated explainers — mean I can sit with a school director or a coaching founder and put AI into plain language, without the jargon or the hype. That's not a separate service; it's just what happens when you actually understand the thing you're building.

I work remote-first — on a call wherever you are, in the room when it helps, and in Germany regularly. Native German, fluent English.
